Carefully weighted glass globes are suspended in a liquid-filled tube, where they sedately sink or float as the surrounding air gets hotter or colder. Temperature is indicated by the engraved brass tag on the lowest floating globe. 11 globe models are 24 tall, seven globe models are 16 tall, five globe models are 13 tall and Piccolo models (five globes) are 11 tall. Temperature is shown in Celsius.
